Ivan's still human. Whatever he has going on with the strength is probably a gift from the Wyrm Spider. Maybe an item like a fetish.

What's the reckoning he used the spiders somehow? That's what his little fucks were starting shit with me about when he waded into the fray - that I'd taken a couple of them down when I was brought here.

What Dana saw and Ivan aren't necessarily related. People have monsters inside and we've been trapped in here for a month now.

The spiders are also special to the Wyrm Spider. It makes sense that her followers wood be upset you killed some. I'm not sure what you mean by Ivan using the spiders.

The Minstrel is a possibility. Maybe Ivan found a Christmas gift the Minstrel left that's responsible. I don't know anymore.
